New Semester further Postponed in Fujian

Fujian Provincial Department of Education has announced that the start of the spring semester will be delayed further after February 16 to ensure utmost safety and health of teachers and students. The exact date will be released one week in advance.

Before further announcement, higher education institutions, primary and secondary schools (graduating classes of secondary schools included), and kindergartens should strictly follow the five requirements by the Ministry of Education:

1. No student is allowed to return to school without permission.

2. People other than students or staff are not to be granted access into the campuses.

3. Students and staff should have their IDs and temperature checked before entering the school gates.

4. Those found to have a fever or cough are to be isolated for medical observation.

5. Non-compliance will lead to serious punishment.

In addition, no schools or training institutions are allowed to organize offline classes or tutorials to prevent further spread and escalation of the coronavirus disease.
