China (Fujian)—Indonesia Symposium on Islamic Culture, an event jointly organized by as helaqiao University, delivered opening remarks. With the goal of enhancing mutual understanding between Chinese and Indonesian Islamic culture scholars and deepening the people-to-people exchanges and practical cooperation between the two sides, the symposium invited 11 speakers from Chinese and Indonesian universities and research institutes, and NU branch in East Java to give keynote speeches on “China-Indonesia People to People Exchange under Belt and Road Initiative”, and “Historical Roots of Fujian and Indonesia Islamic Culture”.

During their stay in Quanzhou, the participants also visited Qingjing Mosque, the Holy Islamic Tombs, and Quanzhou Maritime Museum, where they gained a first-hand experience of the long history of Islam and the diversified religious cultures in this city.
