Vice Governor Guo Ningning had a virtual meeting with Indonesian Coordinating Minister Luhut B. Pandjaitan on Tuesday to discuss the work on accelerating the “Two Countries, Twin Parks” (TCTP) project.
Guo began by giving a briefing on the 6th Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee and the 11th Fujian Provincial Party Congress.
Noting the deep and close connections between Fujian and Indonesia, she said the country is now Fujian’s second largest trading partner and top investment destination in ASEAN.
“Bucking the trend during the pandemic, two-way trade has seen a remarkable growth,” said Guo. She hoped the meeting could bring out greater complementarity of the two sides in location, resource and industry, fuel the push toward the connectivity of industry, infrastructure and policy, and help to build the TCTP project into a connector of industries and new engine for high-quality BRI cooperation.
In his remarks, Coordinating Minister Luhut thanked Fujian for supporting Indonesia in its fight against the COVID-19.
He said, Fujian constitutes an important part in Indonesia-China strategic cooperation, and he looked forward to deeper economic ties, active progress of the TCTP project, and stronger cooperation in healthcare, transportation, fishery, maritime affairs and people-to-people exchanges. He warmly welcomed Fujian to take part in the G20 Summit to be held next year in Indonesia.
Luhut also voiced support for opening a TCTP liaison office in Indonesia, and proposed regular meetings and a working group for monthly consultation on the TCTP work.
Also present at the meeting were Muhammad Lutfi, Indonesian Minister of Trade, Budi G. Sadikin, Indonesian Minister of Health, Djauhari Oratmangun, Indonesian Ambassador to China, and other officials from the two governments.
