Governor Zhao Long met with Governor Raúl Jalil of Argentina’s Catamarca Province and Argentinian Ambassador Sabino Vaca Narvaja on April 6 in Fuzhou. Guo Ningning, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Provincial Committee and Executive Vice Governor, also attended the meeting.

On behalf of the Provincial Party Committee and Government, Zhao warmly welcomed the Argentine guests and gave a brief overview of Fujian’s development. He noted the strong partnership between China and Argentina, as evidenced by the recent meetings between President Xi Jinping and President Fernández. He said Fujian will follow Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, meet the Four Requirements across the board, carry forward the important ideas and major practices created by the General Secretary during his work in Fujian, deepen reform and opening up, and accelerate high-quality Belt and Road cooperation. He hoped the visit will further strengthen exchanges and contacts between the two provinces, and promote win-win cooperation in new energy, international trade, culture and tourism.

Raúl Jalil said rich in mineral resources, Catamarca is a land full of investment opportunities. He looked forward to deepening exchanges and cooperation in various fields with Fujian, and welcomed more Fujian investment and businesses in Catamarca, so as to jointly advance the Belt and Road cooperation and make greater contributions to building a community of shared future between China and Argentina.
