Diplomatic Envoys from Russia, Poland, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) attended the 2021 Maritime Silk Road International Tea Culture Forum in Fuzhou on December 6.

Marek Ciesielczuk, the Consul General of Poland in Shanghai, addressed the opening ceremony. South Korean Consul General Han Jae Heuk also sent a congratulatory message via video. The diplomats also attended the keynote speech session, the tea culture workshop and tasted Fujian tea at the forum, and visited the historical Three Lanes and Seven Alleys in Fuzhou.

On December 5, Zhang Yan, Member of the Standing Committee and Head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee met with the diplomatic envoys in Fuzhou. He talked about the critical relevance of tea in boosting business and cultural exchanges between countries and the centuries-old Tea Road that spread Fujian’s tea culture to the world.

Zhang emphasized Fujian’s determination to advance high-standard opening-up, deepen international cultural exchanges and cooperation, and expand its circle of friendship in the world, an important part of Fujian’s five-year plan that was released in the province’s recently-held 11th CPC Provincial Congress.

Zhang also hoped that diplomatic envoys will gain a deeper understanding of Fujian and China through the Forum, jointly promote Belt and Road cooperation, and make new contribution to building a community with a shared future for mankind.

Diplomatic envoys thanked Fujian’s hospitality and expressed readiness to know more about Fujian’s tea culture and facilitate cultural exchanges between China and their countries.

Also present at the meeting were Ruan Shiwei, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Fujian Provincial Committee, and other leading officials from the Publicity Department and Fujian Provincial Foreign Affairs Office.
