Invited by Fujian Foreign Affairs Office, young ASEAN diplomats visited Fujian from August 7 to 12.  

Huang Shaorong, Deputy Director General of Fujian FAO, welcomed the diplomats and briefed them on Fujian’s economic growth, social governance and international engagement. She highlighted that Fujian is uniquely positioned to follow through on the visions put forward by President Xi Jinping, who worked in Fujian for 17 years and a half. She hoped that Fujian and ASEAN will strengthen trade links and expand exchanges between sister cites to deliver more fruitful outcomes.

Diplomats’ visits in Zhangzhou City and Fuzhou City focused on investment promotion, urban planning, ecological conservation, rural revitalization, digital economy, and business opportunities. They were impressed by the intangible cultural heritage glove puppetry, UNESCO World Heritage site Nanjing Tulou (earthen building), and Fuzhou jasmine tea.

Relevant departments from Zhangzhou City, Fuzhou City and Fuqing City also participated in the visits.
