A group of journalists from 28 countries in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean visited Fujian as part of a tour organized by the China International Press Communication Center (CIPCC).

On November 16, Zhang Yan, Member of the Standing Committee and Head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee welcomed the journalists in Xiamen. He said, Fujian, where President Xi Jinping worked for 17 and a half years, is a crucial birthplace and pilot ground of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. During his tenure in Fujian, President Xi Jinping spearheaded important visions and major practices, such as building Fujian into a digital and eco province.

Zhang also shared his takeaways from the 20th CPC National Congress, highlighting key terms such as Chinese modernization and a human community with a shared future. He hoped the press corps would visit more places of the province and tell the stories of China and the CPC as they are.

Officials in charge of relevant departments of Fujian Province and Xiamen City joined the meeting.
