From March 18 to 25, Fujian Foreign Affairs Office, along with Nanping and Jinjiang governments, hosted Fujian (China) Week events in Myanmar and the Philippines.

The events covered a wide range of areas including business and tourism promotion, enterprises matchmaking, Zhu Xi-themed calligraphy and painting exhibition, Tea Route photo exhibition, and Wuyi tea tasting, and attracted hundreds of local officials and entrepreneurs.

The events injected new momentum into Fujians exchanges with Myanmars Mandalay Region and the Philippines Cebu Province, laying the groundwork for their sister relationships.

The cultural programs at the events offered local people a chance to discover Fujians age-old tea culture and the story of Zhu Xi (the most influential rationalist Neo-Confucian in ancient China).

The 30-plus Fujian enterprises participating in the events also seized the opportunity to conduct industrial cooperation with their counterparts in these two countries, signing more than 30 cooperation agreements in sectors such as construction, building materials, shipbuilding, machinery, civil aviation, tourism, energy, IT, garment and footwear, and food processing.

Fujian (China) Week, initiated by the FAO, serves as a major platform for cooperation with countries and regions along the Maritime Silk Road. Since its launch in 2014, the event has been held in 13 countries.
