Fujian (China) Week held in Russia

On August 3rd, Fujian (China) Week was presented to the public in Petrozavodsk, the capital city of Russia’s Republic of Karelia.
Mr. Liang Jianyong, member of the Standing Committee of head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee, and Mr. Vladimir Timofeev, deputy head of the Republic of Karelia, attended the opening ceremony of the event.
Mr. Liang set out that President Xi Jinping and President Vladimir Putin decided to hold years of China-Russia local cooperation and exchange in 2018 and 2019. Fujian Week in Karelia, which is Fujian’s implementation of the two leaders’ consensus, will promote friendly exchanges and practical cooperation between Fujian and Karelia.
At the Refreshing Fujian Tourism Promotion, a highlight event of Fujian Week, Mr. Liang told Fujian stories of the tea, the tulou, and the maritime Silk Road, which refreshed Fujian-Russia friendship and offered insight on cooperation between the two sides.
At the trade and economic matchmaking conference, entrepreneurs from both sides showcased their products, and sought to identify business partners.
Fujian Week went to a climax with the traditional Chinese music concert put on stage at the National Theater of Karelia. The performance given by folk music artists from Fujian Opera & Dance Troupe enthralled the Russian audience.
