Cambodian People's Party Delegation Visits Fujian

A 21-member delegation of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) headed by Mr. Soeng Reth, an adviser to the Cambodian Prime Minister and CPP President Hun Sen, visited Fujian from February 2 to 6. 

Mr. Liu Xuexin, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee, met with the delegation. Liu reviewed the China-Cambodia relations and the exchanges between Fujian and Cambodia, and updated the guests on the 19th CPC National Congress and the latest developments of Fujian. He then proposed suggestions for deepening mutually beneficial cooperation in business and production capacity, and expanding friendly exchanges at local level and among party and government officials between the two sides

Mr. Soeng Reth noted that the relations of the two countries have witnessed intensified cooperation in all sectors and echoed Mr. Liu’s suggestions. The CPP roots for the Belt and Road Initiative and will release a research report on the alignment of the Cambodia’s Rectangular Strategy with the Initiative in April, said he. 

In Wuyishan City, the delegation members toured Nanyuanling Village where they learned about Fujians practices to improve Party conduct and clean governance at the primary level, and ways to combine these efforts with the development of local tourism, agriculture, and accommodation services. They also visited Wuyishan Tea Trade Association to see how the Party branch leads in getting rid of outdated social mores and improves Party building through ideological work, mechanism innovation and strengthened discipline

In Fuzhou, they attended a party lecture delivered by Mr. Zhou Xinrong, Deputy Director of the Policy and Legislation Research Office of the CPC Fujian Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection. Mr. Zhou introduced the CPCs practices and experience in exercising full and rigorous governance over the Party since its 18th National Congress and the new thinking and measures in this respect after the 19th National Congress. The two sides had in-depth exchanges on the causes of corruption, corruption in poverty alleviation, and anti-corruption measures. 

The delegation also visited Lin Zexu Memorial, an educational base for clean governance. 

Its great to go back with lots of takeaways, said the delegation members who stand ready to facilitate bilateral exchange and cooperation in more areas.
