Zhao Long Meets with First Vice President Ouch Borith of the Senate of Cambodia and Third Deputy Speaker Paul Paolo of the Parliament of Vanuatu

On October 15, Governor Zhao Long met in Fuzhou with First Vice President Ouch Borith of the Senate of Cambodia and Third Deputy Speaker Paul Paolo of the Parliament of Vanuatu, who were in Fujian for the World Maritime Equipment Conference 2025. Vice Chairperson Lin Baojin of the Standing Committee of Fujian Provincial People’s Congress attended the meetings.

 

Zhao noted that Fujian shares deep historical ties and increasingly closer exchanges with Cambodia and Vanuatu. He expressed Fujian’s readiness to work with both countries to implement the important common understandings reached by the heads of states, deeply integrate into the high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, strengthen cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, investment, marine fisheries, maritime equipment, poverty alleviation, and Juncao, foster closer people-to-people exchanges, boost mutual understanding, enhance traditional friendship, and contribute still more to the building of a China-Cambodia all-weather community with a shared future in the new era and a China-Vanuatu community with a shared future in the new era.

 

Ouch Borith highlighted the ironclad friendship between China and Cambodia and hoped to take the Conference as an opportunity to deepen cooperation with Fujian in areas such as agriculture, ocean, education, and tourism. Paul Paolo highlighted the ever-growing friendship between China and Vanuatu and hoped to learn from Fujian’s development experience to strengthen practical cooperation and bring more benefits to the two peoples.
